Mr. Hakeem Bamidele Ogunniran has been Managing Director of UACN Property Development Company Plc. He is a Lawyer, Chartered Secretary and Arbitrator and holds LL.M and MBA degrees from the University of Lagos. Before his present position, he was Managing Director of MDS Logistics between 2000 and 2010. Prior to 2000, he was at various times a Law Lecturer, Company Secretary/Legal Adviser, Sales/Marketing Manager, Corporate Planning Manager, etc.

A former Fulbright Visiting Scholar at the Yale University Law School, USA, he has attended several high level management training programmes including General Management Programme (GMP) of Ashridge Management College, U.K., Strategic Leadership Programme of Cranfield University, U.K., REAL Estate Management Program of Harvard Business School, USA and Senior Financial Management program of the London Business School.

Mr Ogunniran is also a past President and Chairman of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Arbitrators of Nigeria and frequent speaker at international conferences including the Annual African Property Investment Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was the Lead Speaker for Africa at the 1st International Conference on Corporate Governance at Shanghai in May, 2010. Ogunniran leads a UPDC that is regarded as a leading light in property development in Nigeria and the company seems to have achieved the most under Ogunniran. In spite of the slowdown and the credit challenges in the property market, UPDC is developing and selling its high-end properties with ease and Ogunniran readily explains to you: “As market leaders, there’s no magic or secret in what we are doing; at UPDC, real estate development is our business; we have been in this market for a long time; we understand both the market and the industry well.

Ogunniran’s IPO is a Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) worth N30 billion divided into three billion units of N10 each called UPDC Real Estate Investment Trust.
