In response to growing local and foreign interests in the Nigerian retail real estate space, Alphamead Facilities and Management Services Limited has concluded plans with its foreign technical partner, Cluttons LLP, to offer a free one-on-one management consultancy for all levels of retail projects in Nigeria.
Stakeholders attending the Retail Development and Management Forum, billed for early February in Lagos, will be able to schedule a pro bono private consultancy session with the Cluttons LLP team. The exclusive meeting of financiers, developers, current and potential mall owners will feature “experts who have the experience and skills to consult for and manage retail centres, based on successful models in Europe and the UAE, especially Dubai”, a statement from AM Facilities said.
The statement reads in part: “There is a global shift in the commercial and retail space, with foreign brands and investors looking to Africa, and Nigeria in particular, as the new growth frontier. Alongside this, there is a corresponding shift in the shopping culture trend in Nigeria, with more Nigerians tending towards the western style malls as opposed to the traditional local marketplace. This is driving the demand for more shopping malls and retail centres, and with this has come the potential for higher levels of return of retail malls as compared to other property types.
“In the light of these two complimentary trends, there has arisen the need to offer to discerning developers and stakeholders, an alternative set of retail development and management concepts and strategies to that which currently pertains in the Nigerian market”.
Cluttons LLP, a limited liability partnership of Chattered Surveyors with over two centuries of strong influence in the United Kingdom, Europe, Middle East, South Africa and the Caribbean is staging a strategic entry into Africa and has identified Nigeria has its hub. “The company, which prides itself as striving to combine integrity and energy with expertise and experience intends to replicate this style in the Nigerian Real Estate market”, the statement concluded.
The invitation-only forum, organised by AM Facilities on behalf of Cluttons LLP, once again consolidates AMF’s stance on global best practice for Africa’s Facility and Real Estate asset management.
AM Facilities is a notable ISO certified facility management company, who has in the past 3 years, commemorated The World Facility Management Day. The commemoration focuses on an industry-focused FM and asset management round table, which brings together industry stakeholders from within and outside Nigeria to chart the course of FM in Africa.
AM Facilities has managed and still manages selected, high profile clients such Shell, Total, UACN and Primrose Properties Limited. Major projects handled include total facilities management for Mulliner Towers, Treasure Gardens, Atlantic Royal Gardens, Shell offices and residential quarters, 1004 Estate, Ultimate Apartments, among others.
