IFMA (International Facility Management Association), the world’s largest and most widely recognized international association for professional facility managers, supporting more than 23,500 members in 94 countries has declared Wednesday, June 4th, 2014 as the “World FM Day” for this year.
As part of the activities lined up to commemorate this year’s event in Nigeria, Alpha Mead Facilities and Management Services Ltd is organising its annual FM Roundtable meeting which brings together respectable authorities in the field of Facility Management both in Nigeria and internationally.
Some of the key objectives include the following:
To raise general public awareness on the criticality and importance of FM to improving organisational efficiency and general living standard of the people.
To review global best practices that have been applied to address the common challenges being faced the real estate and facility management (REFM) industry in Nigeria.
To discuss how Nigeria can achieve sustainable improvement and positive contribution of the real estate and facility management sector to the socio-economic growth and development of our nation.
To sensitize government on their key roles in the provision and efficient maintenance of public infrastructure by embracing global best practices Facility Management.
To review the role and impact of best practices FM in the concessioning of major public assets to private operators through long term operating agreement as an alternative to direct government funding.
The event shall provide a credible business forum to network, share ideas and forge lasting relationships among this key stakeholder group and it is planned to enjoy adequate publicity both in the print and electronic media locally and internationally.
Each member of the panel shall be expected to discuss a sub-theme relevant to their area of expertise and FM experience for a maximum period of 5 minutes. The discussion will be followed by a Question and Answer session where the audience will be given the opportunity to ask questions related to the presentation.
